Info:
On November 14, the most iconic global B-Boy competition comes to the Eternal City, in Rome’s Palazzo dei Congressi. With its long and storied breaking history, Italy is the perfect location for the twelfth Red Bull BC One World Final.
Throughout 2015, over 70 Cyphers will take place in every corner of the globe. Sixteen of each country’s best B-Boys will go head-to-head for the chance to represent at six regional Finals in Georgia, USA, Peru, South Korea, Spain and Egypt. The winners of these finals will go on to battle in Rome alongside ten Wild Card entries, chosen by an international team of B-Boy experts.
The Palazzo dei Congressi was built originally to house the 1942 Universal Exposition. It later served as the setting for many top athletic events during the 1960 Summer Olympics. The marble building represents the ultimate in classical-meets-contemporary Roman architecture. This year, the Universal Expo will be held in Milan, and more than 20 million visitors are expected to visit the country.
The World Final represents just one more reason why all eyes will be on Italy this year. Breaking came to Italy in the early 1980s, and quickly grew as a movement within the country’s many cultural centers. The Italian style is recognized all over the world, and today a rich and active scene has developed across the country. With its dynamic creativity and best-in-class dancers, Italy is primed to welcome the top breakers of 2015.
Last year, millions of spectators tuned in from around the world to see The Netherland’s Menno take the throne in Paris. Each year the stakes become higher and the competition tougher, as breakers continue to evolve the art form.
