Break & Elevate Festival 2019

Break & Elevate – Our mission

Encouraging positive influence for young people of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire through teaching break dance classes. The project aims to create a central hub of dance for young people to meet. The Hub will be a venue to deliver dance classes and workshops with influencers with the ambition to unite, create opportunity and provide guidance to change paths and behaviours.

Through targeting Youth groups and Schools, the project will offer Breakdance as a new healthy outlet for young people which will help build a sense of community, self-esteem, identity and lead to a decrease anti-social behaviour, stabbings, thefts, gangs, and violence.

The project will deliver ‘Taster breakdance workshops / programmes’ in a variety of locations across the City / County where individuals who show and interest, passion or ability will be invited to the Hub.

Dance is something healthy and active people can do in their area/schools, which gets them off the streets, provides a sense of purpose and impact at the source.

We are excited to be Beestons first ever Urban Arts Festival coming this summer. The idea is for the younger generation of Nottingham and afar to see and experience what they can be involved in plus benefit Beeston Rylands Community Association, and help grow our HUB of dance.
